Script is the Radio-Assist 7.5 dispatch processing module which combined with other Radio-Assist modules respects the way in which a newsroom works.
As the sources of dispatch capture respect each suppliers protocol, capture can be via satellite, modem or indeed any other mode. Script is compatible with market standard protocols ie AFP, Reuters, AP, Bloomberg, IRN etc. The dispatches of several press agencies can be received simultaneously in Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Latin characters.
The search is based on all items indexed in the database. The Script editing system uses filters to provide the user with a quick breakdown of dispatches. Filters are applied to all dispatches, are modified according to the needs of the user and are multilingual. Filter criteria defined by the user are immediately available by selection. Filter results are automatically classed in order of arrival.
Data are sorted by their characteristics (titles, Slugs etc). A summary appears with the first lines of the dispatch. The user can subscribe to a specific service such as an agency, or notification of the arrival of an urgent dispatch (Hotbox).
Sound and text editing are highly interlinked. All classic word processing tools are available: choice of typeface, size, style, paragraph format as well as copy/paste, cut and delete functions. Creating a text directly from a dispatch does not alter the dispatch in any way and several users can simultaneously access the same dispatch. Having edited one or more sounds in Snippet, the journalist inserts them into the text by drag and drop and is therefore able to prepare a news report in a matter of minutes. When the report is ready for broadcast the journalist uses Feder All Desk, which allows shared and secure access to on-air playlists, to place it directly in the on-air playlist.
The Import / Export module is used to import and export the text files. All standard formats are recognised (ASCII, WORD, TXT etc). Script includes direct transfer by email.
